October 1st 2017:

For anyone reading over the next couple of days you can obvisouly see I've managed to get some pictures up but still missing tons of updates from the road.

I'm working on them and hope to post a bunch soon - but for relevance sake I'm going to focus more on the most recent days and the further back in the catalogue the missing entry, the lower the priority.

I've also been having a ton of time off the bike recently with nearly ten days break in Prague, Berlin and back to Prague when my bud from Boston, Steve, came to visit - it nearly killed me.

After just 5 days back on the bike, riding the EuroVelo between Prague and Vienna, I had another 5 off while the mamma came to visit. We had a great few days in Wien before heading onto Budapest for the weekend. As the maternal checkbook (man I ate well for a few days!) fly back home, I grabbed a bus south for the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, another EU capital couldn't name never mind spell or point to on the map before I started the trip. Two weeks of poor weather was the motivation to leap south, unfortunately it was one step ahead and was already lashing down Sunday night as the Flixbus rolled into town.

After another 3 days pinned down watching Europe's greenest city get washed out of it, I finally managed to get back on the road. As counter-intuitively as ever for me I actually headed north, not being able to live with missing out on the idyllic Bled and it's picture perfect lake.

Since leaving Ljubljana I've had probably the best consecutive 3 days of riding of the trip so far - yesterday from Bled to Bovec through the Triglavski national park, up and over the Triglav mountain pass was without doubt the toughest and most rewarding time I've ever spent on a bike.

Slovenia's landscape is absolutely breathtaking and more than ever neither the iPhone or it's operator came anywhere close to doing this absolute gem of a place justice. In 16 weeks there hasn't been a place I've disliked, quite the opposite, but never have I been as adamant, as utterly convinced, about coming back to a country again in the future.

Hopefully next time with a big touring bus filled with some or all of you reading now.

Enjoy the photos - I had an absolute blast taking them.
